SIGNS & SYMPTOMS OF NARCISSISTIC PERSONALITY DISORDER

Are you interested in becoming ableist? Narcissistic Personality Disorder could be the way to start!

Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is a Cluster B disorder. Cluster Bs are people who inconvenience me. I usually have plenty of empathy for people with mental issues unless they start trying to imitate the symptom list. Nobody with issues would have issues unless they had issues.

People with Cluster B disorders are abusive and superficial by nature, making them practically a TV show villain. Sometimes TV show villains are attached as a feature during the diagnosis, for example, “NPD with Mojo Jojo traits.”

Symptoms of NPD include:

  • - No empathy. Certain disorders, such as psychotic disorders or trauma disorders, can impair someone's ability to recognize and feel empathy for others. People with NPD can’t feel empathy unless they want to. It’s a conscious choice of the narcissist.
  • - The compulsive urge to make you a victim. If you weren’t loved as a kid you might seek admiration from the people around you to feel secure. This is how narcissistic abuse commonly starts. People with NPD weren’t loved as a kid so they naturally seek admiration from the people around them to feel secure. You are their target.
  • - Desire to be the best. When they weren’t loved as a kid it taught them the wrong message. Kids should learn to validate themselves in ways that people can romanticize.
  • - Temper tantrums. They can’t control their emotions (when things don’t go their way). They will often become aggressive (if you don’t validate them). They can be competitive (so they don’t feel like a failure). They fear being a failure (they need to grow up because their childhood was NOT that big of a deal).
  • - Lying & manipulation. They will constantly lie to you. Talking to them is always a mind game. It can be tricky to determine if they’re telling the truth or not. The part of their brain that controls honesty, however, has been replaced with cheese, so you can safely assume they’re lying at any given moment.

Note that Narcissistic Personality Disorder is not a common diagnosis as most narcissists will hide their symptoms to avoid being exposed for their true nature.

In the United States, approximately 0.5% of people have Narcissistic Personality Disorder. In comparison, 1.6% of people and 100% of undiagnosed autistic women with sexist doctors have Borderline Personality Disorder. Experts suggest that the prevalence of NPD may increase by revising the DSM to make the criteria sound even worse.

The best way to treat NPD is "taste of medicine" therapy. It involves encouraging NPD stigma so everyone demonizes it. The goal is to isolate the narcissist and make them the first one people blame in any altercation. What makes this therapy work so well is that everyone thinks the untreatable disorder is the problem. The narcissist will try their best to manage their NPD but it won’t be good enough because they’re only a good person if they don’t have it at all. This will help the narcissist be insecure so they never feel important ever again. Which is what we want.

Other treatments for NPD:

  • - Locking them in a cage until they die
